Goodbye, Radiators
I came by the buildings this morning to see the radiators being hauled off to be recycled.
I also took a bunch of pictures with the Hipstamatic iPhone app. It mimics the kind of pictures you would get with an old 110 plastic camera. I think this effect looks especially neat on the pictures of building decay and deconstruction.

Demo!
Deconstruction started over the weekend!
The buildings are being picked apart and materials are separated into drywall, wood, plaster, metal, etc. It will all be brought to Revolution Recovery where the material is then processed by hand and by machine. All waste wood, metal, drywall, cardboard, paper, plastic, rubble, shingles and salvageable items are recovered and either reused or recycled.

A Tour
I have lived in Philly since 1988 and have fallen in love with many of the vacant, dilapidated buildings in this town. Over the years, I have ridden my bike past these rotting, architecturally beautiful buildings while renovating them in my mind.
This is how I felt when I first saw these buildings. It was love at first sight. I think many people would be scared away by the advanced water damage, but I saw amazing natural light, a great layout and lots of potential.
